Privacy policy

1. Who we are and what this covers

OG STUDIO publishes Biggofiles, a free, open-source storage browser for Windows 10 and Windows 11, licensed under the MIT license. This policy describes the official Biggofiles v1.0 desktop release, the Biggofiles pages on this website, and information you choose to send to us for support.

Biggofiles has no account system, advertising, analytics, tracking SDK, or app-operated cloud service. There is no subscription or payment required to use this release. Independently modified versions of the open-source software may behave differently; this policy describes the version distributed by OG STUDIO.

2. Local scanning and information in memory

When you choose a drive or folder and start a scan, Biggofiles reads the directory metadata Windows makes available, including:

• File and folder names and paths.
• Logical file sizes, file types, attributes, and modification times.
• Drive capacity and free-space information shown in the app.
• Information needed to report scan coverage, such as skipped locations and access errors.
• Filesystem identifiers and available NTFS change-journal information used to refresh a scan during the current session.

Scanning reads directory metadata rather than the contents of your files. Search terms, filters, sorting, scan results, coverage notes, and the scan index are processed locally and held in memory. Biggofiles does not upload them or automatically save a scan history or index to disk.

Closing Biggofiles discards its in-memory scan and index. A later session starts a new scan. The app’s dark or light appearance choice is also limited to the current session; the app starts in dark mode.

3. Exports and Windows file actions

CSV and scan-note exports

Biggofiles writes an export only when you choose an export destination. CSV results can contain file names, paths, sizes, types, and dates. Scan notes can contain paths and reasons a location could not be read. These files remain where you save them until you remove them.

Show in Explorer

When requested, Biggofiles passes the selected file or folder path to Windows Explorer so you can inspect its location.

Copy path

When requested, the selected path is copied to the Windows clipboard. Windows clipboard history or synchronization may retain or sync it if those features are enabled in your Windows settings.

Recycle a file

After your confirmation, Biggofiles asks Windows to move the selected file to the Recycle Bin. Windows maintains the recycled item and its related metadata. Biggofiles does not automatically delete files or empty the Recycle Bin.

Optional administrator instance

If you choose to open an administrator instance, Windows prompts for elevation. This can give the app access to metadata in more locations. Biggofiles does not receive or store your Windows password.

Windows components operate under your operating-system settings and policies and may keep their own history or diagnostic information. If you save an export to a cloud-synced or shared folder, your chosen storage provider or other people with access to that folder may receive it. Review exports before sharing them; paths can include your Windows user name or other personal information.

4. Network activity and external links

The Biggofiles desktop application does not make network requests, poll for updates, send crash reports, or upload scan information. You do not need a network connection to scan local storage.

The website and privacy buttons open their configured pages in your default browser only when you select them. Your browser and the destination website then handle that visit under their own settings and policies. Scanning does not cause Biggofiles to open these pages.

Windows, cloud-storage software, or a network storage provider may independently communicate when you access locations they manage. That behavior is controlled by the provider and your system configuration, not by an OG STUDIO upload service.

5. Website visits and GitHub downloads

The Biggofiles website. Our hosting provider may process normal connection information, such as your IP address, browser type, requested page, and access time, to serve and protect this website. The Biggofiles landing page and this policy page do not include advertising or analytics scripts, tracking pixels, or embedded third-party content.

The optional website color-theme preference is saved in your browser’s local storage under og-theme. It is shared with other OG STUDIO pages on the same website and is not a desktop-app setting. The pages do not set cookies themselves. Hosting and security services may have their own technical behavior.

GitHub. The source repository, release page, and download files are hosted by GitHub. Following those links connects you to GitHub, which handles connection and any account information under the GitHub General Privacy Statement. Downloading Biggofiles does not require a Biggofiles account or payment information.

6. Information you send for support

If you email support@ogstudioapps.com, we receive your email address and the message, screenshots, exports, or other attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond to your request and investigate the issue.

Send only information you want to share. Screenshots and exports may reveal file names, paths, your Windows user name, or other visible information. You can remove or obscure unrelated details before sending them.

If you post an issue or comment in the public GitHub repository, its contents and your GitHub profile information may be publicly visible. Use email for a private support request, and avoid posting personal file listings or other sensitive information publicly.

7. Sharing and protecting information

We do not sell or rent personal information or use it for targeted advertising. Biggofiles does not share your local scan results with OG STUDIO or advertisers.

Information you choose to send for support may be handled by providers needed to deliver email, host the website, or manage support. We may also disclose information when required by law. GitHub and Windows services operate independently as described above.

Local data and exports rely on your Windows user-account, folder, and device protections. Exports are ordinary files; Biggofiles does not add encryption or access restrictions to them. We limit access to support information to people and providers who need it for the purposes described in this policy. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

8. Retention, deletion, and your choices

• Scan results and index: close Biggofiles to discard its in-memory session. There is no Biggofiles account or cloud scan history to delete.
• Exports: delete exported CSV files and scan notes from the locations where you saved them. Shared copies and backups must be managed separately.
• Portable app: after closing it, remove the extracted application folder if you no longer want Biggofiles. This does not remove exports saved elsewhere.
• Windows records: manage Explorer history, clipboard history and synchronization, Recycle Bin items, and device backups through Windows or the relevant provider.
• Website theme: clear this website’s local storage or site data in your browser to remove the saved appearance preference.

We retain support information only as long as needed to answer requests, resolve issues, and meet applicable legal obligations. To request access, correction, or deletion of information you have provided to OG STUDIO, email support@ogstudioapps.com. We may need to verify the request and retain information the law requires us to keep.

For information held independently by GitHub, your email provider, a storage provider, or Windows services, use that provider’s privacy controls or contact details.

9. Children’s privacy

Biggofiles is a general-purpose desktop utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information. If you believe a child has sent personal information to OG STUDIO, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Biggofiles’ features or data practices change. The current policy will remain available at this address with an updated effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before a material change takes effect.
