Privacy policy

The short version

FMM: Farmers Market Map ("FMM") does not collect, sell, or share your personal information — OG STUDIO never receives it. It has no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. The whole market list and a base map are built into the App, so it works with no internet connection at all.

When you are online, the App contacts outside services only to do what you ask: a map service for detailed street maps (section 2) and, when you search for an address, an address-search service (section 3).

1. What FMM stores on your device

To remember your preferences between sessions, FMM saves a small amount of data in the App's private storage on your own device:

• your appearance setting (light, dark, or match device) and whether the tap sound is on;
• the markets you star as favorites;
• the part of the map you were last looking at, so the App opens there next time;
• a counter for the "Request update" form (so each request you send from this device gets its own number) and a random four-letter code that identifies this installation in those requests;
• that you accepted the License Agreement, and when;
• how many times the App has been opened, and whether it has already shown the store's rating prompt (so it is offered only once);
• detailed map areas you choose to download for offline use, and the map cache that makes maps you have already viewed load faster and work offline.

This information never leaves your device. OG STUDIO cannot see it.

2. Map tiles from the internet

When your device is online, the App loads detailed street maps from OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org), an independent free map service built on OpenStreetMap data. As with any website, that service receives your device's IP address and the map areas being loaded, under its own privacy terms. It does not receive your name, account, or location from FMM. If you prefer, you can use the App fully offline with the built-in base map.

3. Address search

When you search for an address, ZIP code, or place (press Enter, or tap "Go to …" under the search bar), the App sends the text you typed to an address-search service so it can find that spot on the map:

• on iPhone and iPad, Apple's geocoding service;
• on Android, the phone's built-in geocoding service (usually provided by Google), but only if you have already allowed location access;
• otherwise, or if those find nothing, Photon (photon.komoot.io), a free address search built on OpenStreetMap data and run by komoot. Photon may also receive the center of the map you are looking at, rounded to about 10 km (6 miles), so that nearby matches come first. It never receives your device's location.

These services receive your search and your device's IP address, under their own privacy terms. OG STUDIO never receives your searches, and the App keeps no search history. Searching for a market, city, or county by name happens entirely on your device and sends nothing.

4. Your location (optional)

If you tap the locate button and allow access, the App uses your device's location only on the device, to show where you are and center the map near you. Your location is never uploaded or shared by FMM, and the App does not keep a record of it. The only thing remembered is the map view on screen when you leave the App (section 1) — if the map was showing the area around you, that view stays in the App's private storage on your device so the App reopens there. You can turn location access off at any time in your device settings; the App keeps working without it.

5. Directions, websites, social pages, email, sharing, and update requests

When you tap "Directions", a market's "Website", "Facebook", "Instagram", or "TikTok", "Contact support", or "Share", the App hands that request to your device's maps, web browser, email, social, or share apps. Those apps handle it under their own privacy policies. FMM sends nothing about you to those sites, and it has no tracking pixels, embedded feeds, or social logins: a social page opens only when you tap its button, and from then on that site's own privacy terms apply.

"Request update" works the same way: the App fills in an email to support@ogstudioapps.com with the market, the topic you chose, the information you typed, and — only if you typed them — your name and email address, then opens your email app. Nothing is sent until you tap Send there, and the App keeps no copy. We use what you send only to check and correct that market's details and, if needed, to reply to you.

6. Purchases and support

If you buy the App, the store you buy from (Apple or Google) collects your payment information under its own privacy policy. OG STUDIO may receive limited sales reports from that store. We use them only to deliver and support the App and to meet legal and accounting obligations.

After you have used the App a few times, it may show the store's own rating prompt once. That prompt is run by Apple or Google; FMM does not see whether or how you rate it, and a rating you leave is handled under the store's own terms.

If you email us for support, we use your email and what you send us only to answer you.

We do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined under California law (including the CCPA/CPRA), and we do not use it for advertising.

7. Children

FMM is not directed to children under 13, and OG STUDIO does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your choices and deleting your data

You can delete everything FMM stores at any time:

• delete downloaded maps under Settings > Offline maps; or
• uninstall the App, which removes all of its data from your device.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will ship with the next version of FMM, with a new effective date.
