MIN: My International Name
Effective and last updated:
Your name. Your choices.
MIN keeps saved names and preferences on your device. Names and speech are processed on-device in Android release 1.0.0. Purchases, support, and files you choose to share are explained below.
1. Who we are and what this covers
OG STUDIO publishes MIN: My International Name. This policy explains how the Android app and the MIN pages at ogstudioapps.com/min/ handle information. An iPhone version is coming soon; this policy will be updated if its features or data practices differ.
MIN suggests ways to write and pronounce names in different languages and lets you save results and create name artwork. It has no MIN account system, advertising, analytics, or tracking SDK. Core name suggestions and artwork are processed on your device. This policy describes the on-device-only Android release, version 1.0.0 build 11. Purchases and information you choose to send us are explained below.
2. Names, preferences, and local storage
MIN handles the name you enter and any pronunciation hint to produce suggested local spellings and reading guides. The app may keep these items on your device:
- Saved names, language results, personal spelling corrections, reading guides, and save dates.
- Remembered pronunciation choices and sound hints associated with names you have entered, including names you have not bookmarked.
- Your selected language voices, speaking speed, display preferences, and introduction preference.
- Purchase receipt and entitlement information needed to remember an artwork export unlock.
- Temporary artwork and saved-name backup files created for export or sharing.
This information supports the features you choose to use. Local storage is not an OG STUDIO cloud account or a synchronized name history. We do not have remote access to your local saved names. The Android app disables its standard app-data backup; exports you save elsewhere are controlled by you and the destination you choose.
3. Listening and optional speech input
Listening to names. MIN uses installed text-to-speech voices that Android identifies as not requiring a network connection. Network voices are excluded from the voice list and rejected during playback. If a compatible offline voice is missing, MIN asks you to install its language data in Android settings. Downloading a voice pack is a separate activity controlled by the device provider.
Saying your name. On supported Android 12 or newer devices, MIN uses Android’s explicit on-device speech recognizer. Before first use, MIN explains microphone access and requests your permission. Audio is processed on your device; MIN does not send or save it. Only candidate text is returned for you to check. Voice input is disabled when an on-device recognizer is unavailable, and it does not fall back to an online recognizer.
You can always type instead and can revoke MIN’s microphone permission in Android settings. Your keyboard’s own dictation feature is separate from MIN and follows the keyboard provider’s settings and privacy practices.
4. Online name and voice services
Online name generation and cloud speech services are disabled in this release. MIN does not send entered names, pronunciation hints, or speech audio to Google Gemini, Microsoft Azure Speech, or an OG STUDIO name-processing server. It does not check a MIN cloud-service endpoint on startup.
Google Play purchases, links you open, support messages, and files you choose to share use separate services as described below.
5. Android access and permissions
MIN does not request your contacts, location, camera, SMS, or advertising identifier. Device settings and provider permissions vary; disabling access may limit the corresponding feature.
6. Artwork, backups, and sharing
Name artwork and saved-name backups are generated on your device. They can contain your name, selected language spellings, reading guides, and other details you saved. When you choose a sharing or saving destination, that destination receives the selected files under its own privacy practices.
Export files may remain in MIN’s temporary cache until you clear it or the operating system removes them. Files saved outside MIN, sent to another person, backed up, or opened in a printing app remain outside MIN’s control. Deleting a saved name in MIN does not delete these copies.
7. Purchases and payment information
The optional one-time Android card-export unlock uses Google Play Billing. Google handles checkout and payment details. MIN and OG STUDIO do not receive your full payment-card details.
To confirm purchased access, MIN sends the Google-signed purchase receipt and signature to OG STUDIO’s purchase-verification service hosted on Google Cloud. Receipts contain purchase information such as the product identifier, purchase token, order information, purchase time and purchase state. A random request value is included to prevent response replay. Names you explore, pronunciation hints, speech audio, saved-name entries and card content are not included.
The service verifies the purchase with the Google Play Developer API, acknowledges completed purchases, processes purchase/refund notifications, and checks for cancelled, refunded or revoked purchases. It stores the purchase token, product, verification state and update time while needed to provide the purchased entitlement. After revocation, it removes the raw token from its entitlement record and keeps a one-way token digest with the revocation reason and time to prevent replay. We do not store full receipt bodies or signatures in the entitlement database.
The app keeps its receipt and a signed verification on your device. Paid exports normally check current ownership online. A recent verification may be used offline for up to 24 hours; after it expires, reconnect to verify again. Refund or revocation updates take effect when the app checks online, or when its offline verification expires. This service does not create a MIN user account or require your email address.
Ordinary connection information, including source IP address and request time, may be processed by Google Cloud to deliver and protect the service. Service request logs are retained for 30 days. Request bodies, purchase tokens and authorization headers are not written to application logs. Purchase data is used for app functionality, purchase support, fraud prevention and refund handling, not advertising or analytics.
Store accounts and purchase history are managed by Google. Clearing MIN’s data does not erase Google Play purchase history or request a refund. Purchases can be restored using the same Google account. See the Google Privacy Policy. For questions about purchase records held by OG STUDIO, use the contact below.
8. Support messages and website visits
Contacting us. If you email support@ogstudioapps.com, we receive your email address and the messages, screenshots, or files you choose to send. We use them to respond and resolve your request. Include only information you intend to share; screenshots and artwork may contain names.
This website. Our hosting provider, Hostinger, may process normal connection information such as an IP address, browser type, requested page, and access time to deliver and protect the site. See Hostinger’s Privacy Policy. The MIN landing and privacy pages contain no advertising, analytics, remote font, or social tracking scripts. Your optional color-theme choice is saved in your browser’s local storage.
Following a store link, opening another website, or sending email uses the destination’s services and policies. App stores, operating systems, and their diagnostic or installation services may independently handle information under their own policies.
10. Retention, deletion, and your choices
Request deletion of MIN purchase or support data held by OG STUDIO.
- Email support@ogstudioapps.com with the subject “MIN data deletion request.” A parent or guardian can request this for a child.
- Tell us whether you want purchase-verification records, previous support messages, or both deleted. For a purchase, include the Google Play order number if available so we can locate it. Do not send passwords, payment-card details, purchase tokens, or names saved in the app.
- We may ask for information needed to verify the request. We delete eligible records and explain any information we must retain for fraud prevention or legal obligations.
Active purchase-verification records contain the purchase token, product, entitlement state and update time. A one-way token digest and revocation reason/time may be retained to prevent refunded purchases from regaining access. Service request logs expire after 30 days. Google keeps its own store records; this request does not erase Google Play history or issue a refund. Restoring a valid purchase can create a new verification record.
Saved entries. Remove a saved name from the Saved screen to delete that entry. Separately remembered pronunciation choices, settings, and export copies may remain.
All local app data. Use Android Settings → Apps → MIN → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall MIN, to remove its app-local names, pronunciation preferences, settings, and cached files. Settings names vary by device. This does not remove files you exported elsewhere or records held by a store or speech provider. Clearing the cache alone does not remove saved names and preferences.
Speech and names. This release does not upload names or audio to MIN cloud services. Speech audio is not saved by MIN. Device voice-pack downloads and keyboard dictation are controlled separately by their providers.
Support and purchase records. We retain support information only as long as needed to respond and meet applicable legal obligations. Active entitlement records support the lifetime purchase; revoked-token digests are kept to prevent a refunded receipt from restoring access. Google Cloud service request logs are retained for 30 days. You can request deletion of purchase-verification information, subject to records needed to prevent fraud or meet applicable legal obligations; deleting an active entitlement record can require verification again with Google Play when you restore access. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information we hold, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent for optional processing. Contact us using the address below. We may need to verify the request and retain information we are required to keep. You may also contact your local data-protection authority.
Website preference. Clear ogstudioapps.com site data in your browser to remove the saved color theme. No MIN account is required, so there is no MIN account to close.
11. Children’s privacy
MIN is intended for ages 9 and up, including children, teens, and adults. It does not ask for a date of birth, require a MIN account, display ads, or include analytics or tracking SDKs. Name suggestions, saved names, and speech in this release are processed on-device. The purchase-verification service processes purchase records only when paid exports are used; it does not receive the child’s entered name or speech. Parents and guardians can manage microphone permission and Google Play purchase approvals through their device and account settings.
Children should ask a parent or guardian before making a purchase, sharing a name card, or contacting support. Do not include unnecessary personal information in support messages. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent personal information to OG STUDIO, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
Local names, pronunciation preferences, and app data can be removed using the device controls described above. Copies shared to another app or person are governed by that destination’s privacy practices.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when MIN’s features, supported platforms, or data practices change. The current version will remain at this address with an updated effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before a material change takes effect.
