LifeMacro for Android
Effective and last updated:
Your shortcuts stay close to you.
LifeMacro saves your library and artwork on your device. It does not upload them to OG STUDIO. Thumbnail requests, services you choose to open, local TV connections, and backups are explained below.
1. Who we are and what this covers
OG STUDIO, also identified as OG Studio Apps in the app, publishes LifeMacro (“LifeMacro” or “the app”). This policy explains how the Android app handles information when you save or open shortcuts, personalize buttons, use its TV remote, make backups, or contact us. It also covers the LifeMacro webpages at ogstudioapps.com/lm/.
LifeMacro does not require an account and has no advertising, analytics, or advertising-tracking SDKs. OG STUDIO does not receive your shortcut library, artwork, in-app opening history, or TV pairing credentials through the app. The network connections and information you voluntarily provide are described below.
2. Information stored on your device
LifeMacro uses private app storage to remember the information needed for its features:
- Shortcut names, icons, colors, pins, collections, and the name you give your pinned home page.
- Saved destinations, optional starting addresses, travel modes, and route preferences.
- Website, video, music, playlist, and podcast links, including any saved video start time.
- Imported button pictures, drawing layers, and customized theme colors.
- Appearance, sound, and vibration preferences.
- Shortcut creation times, last-opened times, and opening counts used for local app features.
- Shared text and titles that you send to LifeMacro through Android’s Share menu, held in a local inbox until processed and saved.
- TV connection information described in section 5.
This information is used to display, organize, customize, and open your saved actions. LifeMacro does not maintain an OG STUDIO cloud account or synchronize your library to our servers.
Saved addresses are information you enter. LifeMacro does not request device-location access or record your movements. A maps app you open may use location under its own permissions.
3. Photos, drawing, and Quick art
You choose a picture through the system file or photo picker. LifeMacro processes the selected image on your device, resizes it for a shortcut button, and stores the resulting artwork locally. It does not request access to your entire photo library, use the camera, or upload your photo or drawing to OG STUDIO.
The resized image is saved as newly rendered artwork rather than a copy of the original photo file and its embedded metadata. Visible personal information in the picture remains visible in the artwork and in any backup you export.
Drawing tools, text, bundled fonts, and the 36 Quick art choices work locally. Quick art uses built-in pictures and simple prompt matching; it does not send prompts to an online AI service.
If you choose a file from a cloud-backed picker, that file provider handles retrieval under its own privacy policy.
4. Saved links, directions, and YouTube thumbnails
Opening a saved action
When you tap a shortcut, LifeMacro passes the information needed for that action to the relevant app or browser. For directions, this can include a saved destination, an optional starting address, and route preferences. For media and websites, it includes the saved URL and any supported video start time.
Google Maps, YouTube, music or podcast services, and websites handle these requests independently. They may receive your IP address, device or browser information, and activity associated with an account you have with them. They may require internet access, sign-in, or a subscription. LifeMacro does not receive your passwords for these services.
YouTube thumbnail requests
When a YouTube thumbnail is displayed in LifeMacro, the app requests that image directly over HTTPS from Google’s YouTube image service at i.ytimg.com. The request identifies the video and sends normal connection information, including your IP address. This can happen when the thumbnail appears, before you tap to play the video.
Google handles these requests under the Google Privacy Policy. LifeMacro does not proxy thumbnail requests through OG STUDIO, download the video itself, or synchronize with your YouTube account. Offline use prevents new thumbnail requests; already cached images may remain visible.
For other services you choose to use, review their own policies, including Spotify’s Privacy Policy and Apple’s Privacy Policy, where applicable.
5. TV discovery, pairing, and control
The optional Remote feature connects to supported smart TVs on your home network. When you open TV discovery, LifeMacro sends local discovery requests and reads advertised device details, such as a TV’s name, platform, local network address, service identifiers, and supported remote ports. Nearby devices on that network can receive discovery traffic. Discovery results are used to help you select a TV; discovery alone does not pair with or save it.
After you choose a TV, LifeMacro exchanges the approval, PIN-based pairing information, or certificate information needed to establish a connection. It may save the selected TV’s name, platform, private network address, optional MAC address for power-on, certificate fingerprint, pairing token, and remote settings in private app storage.
Google / Android TV pairing also creates a client identity using Android Keystore. The private key stays in the device’s Keystore and is not included in a library backup. The corresponding certificate is used to identify the app to the TV.
Remote commands, including navigation, playback, volume, and streaming-app launch requests, are sent directly to the selected TV on the local network. Power-on may send a Wake-on-LAN packet containing the saved TV MAC address to local network addresses. TV discovery and control do not use an OG STUDIO cloud service and do not send your pairing credentials to us.
Your TV and any streaming services it opens handle their own activity under their own policies. Use the TV’s settings to manage approved remote devices. Pairing data saved by LifeMacro is separate from your shortcut-library backup.
6. Android permissions and system access
LifeMacro does not request location, contacts, SMS, call-log, microphone, camera, accessibility-service, or display-over-other-apps access. External apps operate under their own permissions.
7. Backups you choose to create
In Settings, you can export or restore a library backup using Android’s document picker. A backup contains your saved shortcuts, addresses, links, collections, button pictures and drawing layers, local usage information included in the library, and preferences such as your theme and home-page name.
Backup files are plain, unencrypted JSON. Anyone who can read the file may be able to view its contents. Choose a location and recipients you trust. If you save or share a backup through a cloud provider or another app, that provider receives and handles the file under its own terms and privacy policy.
TV pairing tokens, TV connection settings, and the Android TV private key are not included in these library backups. LifeMacro is configured to exclude its app data from Android’s automatic cloud backup and device-transfer backup. Manual export is the supported way to keep a separate library copy.
8. Support, app stores, and this website
Support. If you email support@ogstudioapps.com, we receive your email address and the message, screenshots, or files you send. We use them to answer your request and resolve the issue. Please avoid sending unnecessary personal information; screenshots and backups can contain saved addresses or private links.
App stores. Google Play handles store accounts, downloads, any payments, and refunds under its own policies. OG STUDIO may receive store reports and limited transaction or diagnostic information made available through Google Play. LifeMacro does not collect payment-card details. Android and Google Play may process installation and diagnostic information independently of the app, according to their settings.
These webpages. Our hosting provider, Hostinger, may process normal connection information such as your IP address, browser type, requested page, and access time to deliver and protect the website. These LifeMacro pages do not include advertising or analytics scripts or set tracking cookies. If you change the color theme, the preference is saved in your browser’s local storage under og-theme. The preview images, scripts, and styles are served from this website.
10. Retention, deletion, and your choices
Local library information remains on your device until you remove it, replace it through a restore, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall LifeMacro. There is no LifeMacro account or OG STUDIO cloud library to delete.
- Use a shortcut’s three-dot menu to edit or remove it.
- Use Delete All Recent on the Recent page to clear the last-opened history. Saved shortcuts, artwork, and opening counts remain in the library.
- Use Forget this TV in TV setup to remove the saved TV connection record and token. The Android TV client key is managed separately in Android Keystore; uninstalling the app removes its app-specific key. You can also revoke the remote’s access in your TV’s settings.
- Use Android Settings → Apps → LifeMacro → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the app, to remove its local app data. Labels vary by device.
- Delete exported backups separately from the folders, cloud accounts, or apps where you placed them. Clearing app storage does not delete copies you exported.
- Clear this website’s site data in your browser to remove its saved theme preference.
We retain support correspondence and store-related records only as long as needed to answer requests, resolve issues, support transactions, and meet legal or accounting obligations. To request access, correction, or deletion of information you provided to OG STUDIO, email support@ogstudioapps.com. We may need to verify your request and retain information the law requires us to keep.
For information held independently by Google, a streaming service, a website, your TV provider, or a backup provider, use that provider’s privacy controls or contact details.
11. Children’s privacy
We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through LifeMacro. The app does not require a name, date of birth, or account. If you believe a child has sent personal information to OG STUDIO, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate. External websites, media services, and app stores have their own age requirements and privacy practices.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when LifeMacro’s features or data practices change. The current policy will remain available at this address with an updated effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before a material change takes effect.
